Your dishwasher can be a helpful appliance in your home. You load it with the dirty dishes, pull it open an hour later to clean dishes that you didn't have to wash. Use The Right Soap
You need to use dishwasher detergent in your dishwasher. Anything else used may clog your dishwasher. Don't use dish soap, as it can bubble too much and you'll end up with soapy dishes and possibly a clog as well. Be sure the detergent you are using is made for dishwashers. If needed, try using a liquid detergent over the granular detergent, which may dissolve better and prevent clogs as well. If you have a clog due to soap buildup, you'll need to pour hot water down the drain inside the dishwasher. Continue to do this until the water runs freely down the drain. If you have a soapy buildup inside the dishwasher, you'll need to give it a good wipe down with vinegar and water.
Rinse Your Dishes
Your dishwasher may not be able to handle too much leftover food on your dishes and could wind up clogging your dishwasher. If you have a clog in the dishwasher, it may have occurred because you had too much food on the dishes. Be sure you are rinsing your dishes before you put them into the dishwasher. If you have a clog, you are going to need to snake the drain inside the dishwasher. To do this, you're going to need to remove the spinning arm inside the bottom of the dishwasher and remove the filter to expose the drain. Pull out anything that may be clogging the filter or the drain, then snake it with the snake. Use a store-bought clog removing liquid to help remove the clog as well.
